Brushing Technique

It is imagined that one would know how to brush their teeth. However this assumption maybe far from
the truth.
Poor brushing technique is the leading cause in tooth sensitivity and gum disease.
A common brushing technique is the horizontal stroke. This stroke is ineffective and extremely
traumatic to the gums. Being a strong strong it wears of the gum surface exposing dentine the sensitive
surface of the tooth.
Using a very hard toothbrush together with a horizontal stroke is double tragedy as the gums are totally
stripped off and enamel worn out.
The best brushing technique is small circular motions with a medium hardness tooth brush.
Use of dental floss and interdental toothbrushes is advised to clean between teeth .
